Occlude Has Begun Its Ritual On Steam And Itch.io

Play Your Cards Wisely In Occlude

Following a big success at Steam Next Fest, Occlude, the latest title from King of the Castle developers Tributary Games and publisher Pantaloon, is now officially available on Steam and Itch.io.

Occlude is a narrative-driven card game that dives deep into the occult, blurring the line between puzzle-solving and storytelling. At its core are seven Rituals, each controlled by a unique Entity and governed by distinct, often opaque logic. Rather than spelling everything out, the game invites players to uncover its rules through exploration.

“We wanted the rules of the game itself to be part of the discovery,” says Studio Lead Samuel Partridge. “Occlude takes what you think you know about Solitaire, and then blows things wide open from there. The puzzles and the narrative go hand-in-hand, so as you learn one you also learn the other. We’re incredibly proud of where this journey leads – the last Ritual in particular – and can’t wait to see how players grapple with it.”

To make the game more approachable, Tributary Games added a new Story Mode at launch. This mode caters to those drawn more to the game’s surreal, Lynchian narrative than its complex logic-based challenges, offering a smoother entry point into its world.

But Occlude doesn’t stop at the game itself. Its release is paired with Seven Cards, Seven Rituals, an ongoing alternate reality game (ARG) that expands the lore through a series of cryptic clues, hidden documents, and immersive puzzles. Designed to deepen the world-building, the ARG lets players explore the mysteries of Occlude well beyond the cards.

Mysterious, atmospheric, and intellectually demanding, Occlude offers a rich, layered experience for those ready to decipher its secrets.
