Crank Up Your Factory In Modulus
Belgian indie studio Happy Volcano ramps up development during Steam Automation Fest by spotlighting its modular factory sim Modulus. The studio has released an updated demo, launched a creator program, and confirmed the Early Access release date: October 22, 2025. With more than 100,000 wishlists, 42,000 demo downloads, and a 96 percent Very Positive rating on Steam, Modulus continues to build a strong reputation in the automation genre.
Modulus offers a calm, sandbox-style experience where players construct detailed voxel-art factories. Using tools like Cutters, Stampers, and Assemblers, players create modules that form the visible structures of their growing factories. The game removes combat, timers, and failure states, encouraging creative and thoughtful automation.
The latest demo introduces several new features. Players can unlock upgrades and new islands through the tech tree, manage resources with advanced sorters and warehouses, and customize their builds with added visual options. Weekly prompts and modular challenges provide additional ways to play and experiment.
Happy Volcano also invites content creators to join the new Creator Program. Streamers, video makers, writers, and community organizers can gain early access to updates, receive exclusive merchandise, enter creator-only giveaways, participate in developer Q and A sessions, and collaborate on projects. The program includes support across Modulus, You Suck at Parking, and The Almost Gone, with future titles also in the pipeline. You can sign up for it right here: Happy Volcano Creator Program
Modulus encourages players to build, automate, and express creativity at their own pace. With its focus on peaceful production and visible results, it offers a unique and satisfying take on factory simulation. Early Access starts on October 22, and the community of builders continues to grow.
