Become the World-Famous Agent in 007 First Light
IO Interactive, the studio behind the acclaimed Hitman series, has announced its latest project: 007 First Light. It is a story-driven third-person action-adventure game that will be coming out sometime in 2026. Developed in partnership with Amazon MGM Studios, the game offers a fresh take on the iconic British spy. It presents an original origin story that reimagines a young James Bond’s journey to becoming 007.
Set before Bond earns his license to kill, 007 First Light follows a 26-year-old Royal Navy air crewman whose combat heroism and sharp instincts draw the attention of MI6. Recruited into the elite 00 program, Bond begins his transformation into the world-famous secret agent. Players will step into his shoes, navigating a world of espionage, danger, and deception across global locations inspired by the film series.
The game will blend IO Interactive’s signature stealth and action, with the intrigue and cinematic flair of the Bond universe. Players can decide how to approach challenges. They can choose whether to use force, stealth, or charm. All while utilizing gadgets from Q Branch and building relationships with both familiar faces like M, Q, and Moneypenny, and newcomers such as Bond’s mentor John Greenway and the enigmatic Isola.
007 First Light was officially revealed during Sony’s recent PlayStation State of Play showcase. It will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Fans can wishlist the game now.
