Animal Crossing: New Horizons Receives Minor Update on Switch and Switch 2

A Few Fixes for Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Nintendo has released a new update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, bringing the game to version 2.0.8. This patch focuses on resolving specific bugs affecting gameplay on both the original Nintendo Switch and the newer Switch 2.

One of the key fixes addresses a glitch exclusive to the Switch 2. Previously, players encountered an issue that halted progress when changing door decoration variations while suggesting home exterior changes to Tom Nook at Resident Services. The developers have finally resolved this issue.

Another fix tackles a long-standing inventory problem. Players who crafted fencing found that it would not appear in their inventory if a remade version of the same fence was already present in their pockets. With this update, that issue has been corrected.

In addition to these changes, Nintendo has applied a series of general improvements and adjustments designed to enhance the overall gameplay experience. However, it is important to note that this update does not introduce any performance enhancements or Switch 2-specific upgrades for New Horizons. There is currently no word on a potential Switch 2 Edition or any major graphical improvements for the game.

This patch arrives alongside a broader wave of updates for various first-party Nintendo titles. Many of them have received resolution and frame rate boosts on the Switch 2. A new system firmware update for the Switch 2 was also released today. This also suggests that Nintendo is steadily optimizing its software lineup for the new hardware.

For now, New Horizons remains largely unchanged on the surface, but these small fixes help ensure a smoother and more polished experience across platforms.
