Indie developer NewFutureKids has announced that their upcoming game Bobo Bay will be part of Steam’s Creature Collector Fest. It is a themed event that celebrates games centered around collecting, raising, and battling creatures. The game draws inspiration from the beloved Chao Garden, offering a unique blend of pet simulation and competitive gameplay.

Bobo Bay

In Bobo Bay, players collect and train adorable creatures called Bobos to compete in races and other events. Each Bobo can be bred and customized in countless ways, including body color, eye shape, patterns, personality traits, and more. Accessories like hats add an extra layer of charm, making every Bobo feel unique.

The heart of the game lies in its competitions. Players can enter their Bobos into races hosted by fictional global sponsors, all set in a sleek new sports complex. Winning events earn prizes and the chance to challenge Bobo Stars, legendary Bobos that unlock rare saplings for even deeper customization.

Outside the racetrack, players can explore a cozy town, buy accessories, register new Bobos, and browse past event results at the Town Hall. The in-game clock plays a big role as well. Some events happen daily, while others occur only on specific nights, encouraging players to plan and return often.

Bobo Bay is currently available as an alpha download on Steam, with a full release scheduled for Q2 2026. With its charming aesthetic, deep customization, and competitive twist, it is shaping up to be a standout in the creature-collecting genre.
