GTA 6 Reconfirms Its Release Window for Fall 2025

GTA 6 Is Still on Track

As part of its earning briefing, Take Two, the parent company of Rockstar Games announced that GTA 6 is still set to launch in the fall of 2025. Many thought Rockstar might delay the game, as it has done with past releases, but that wasn’t the case.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick acknowledged that there is “always a risk of slippage”. However, he said he feels “really good” that the game will launch on schedule in Fall 2025.

“Look, I think the game is eagerly anticipated both internally and externally,” he said. “We know that Rockstar seeks perfection. I never claim success before it occurs. I’m fond of saying arrogance is the enemy of continued success, so we’re all running scared and looking over our shoulders and we know that the competition is not asleep. Our whole organization is super excited.”

In a different interview, Zelnick told Variety, “We’ve announced a pretty narrow window [for GTA 6]. So I think our view is that right now, that’s fine. And then when it’s appropriate, of course, Rockstar is going to have more to say.”

Take-Two’s stock is climbing as well, up over 7% after its earnings report. The jump could be due to the company outperforming expectations, signaling strong financial health.

Furthermore, GTA VI has a lot to live up to, with the series reaching incredible milestones. GTA V alone has sold over 210 million copies, pushing the total sales of the franchise to an astonishing 440 million. Meanwhile, Rockstar’s other series Red Dead Redemption continues to grow as well. Red Dead Redemption II has now sold 70 million copies, adding 3 million more in just three months.
