Terrorbytes Just Received Its First Major Update

Escape From Arcade Machine in Terrorbytes

Developer Treetop and publisher Over The Moon have officially released the first major update for Terrorbytes. This update improves performance and introduces two new remixed, damaged environments and two fresh anomalies. The first is the Mannequin, a “weeping angel” type that only moves when you look away. Then there’s the Jester, who loves to dance for you and craves attention. Ignore him for too long, though, and he becomes deadly. Deciphering his behavior is a tricky challenge on its own.

Terror Bytes is a 4-player comedy horror game that draws its inspiration from Tron, Stranger Things, and Lethal Company. The story follows four teenagers who are pulled into a haunted arcade cabinet, where they must collect pellets to satisfy the twisted and terrifying Ms. Croak-Man, a nightmarish version of a retro arcade hero.

In the game, all players draw from one shared energy pool for every action, including sprinting. Working together is crucial, collect pellets to manage your energy while dodging relentless arcade foes. Plenty of useful upgrades and special items, from a trusty flashlight and a satisfying power washer to map-room improvements that let you place guiding arrows, set decoys, or communicate with teammates. Surviving long enough may reveal the dark force that trapped you and offer you a chance to escape.

Terrorbytes is currently available in Steam Early Access for just $7.99.
