Smack Studio Fights Its Way Out of Steam Early Access Today

Smack Studio Version 1.0 Is Finally Here

ThirdPixel Interactive has officially released the full version 1.0 of their popular sandbox fight game, Smack Studio on Steam. The game first entered early access back in 2021. After running a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2022, it found a loyal fanbase through its appearance at events like PAX West and the OTK Games Expo.

The development team also spent the past few years improving the game’s patent creation technology. All the while, adding new content, and offering players new ways to personalize the game.

“We’re incredibly excited to share the 1.0 launch of Smack of Studio,” said Alec Dutch, creator and lead developer on the project. “The game has been in development since January 2018 – more than 6 years! What started as an unlikely dream to allow fully custom characters in a fighting game has become a reality, thanks to the efforts of a small but dedicated team, and the contributions of a community with a passion for the project. We’re very grateful to the Kickstarter backers who helped us raised money and awareness for the project in 2022, as well as all the creators who have put time into the game and shared their creations on Steam Workshop. We hope that the game and the community will be around for many years to come!”

If you are not aware of Smack Studio, don’t fret because we got your back. It is a sandbox fighting game that features powerful built-in creation tools. Players can even transform custom 2D sprites into 3D animations using the powerful automation tools present in the character creator. Not only that, they can even use their custom creations to battle online, share on Steam Workshop, or export their characters for other projects.
