Ascendant, Adaptive Squad Shooter, Announces August Open Beta

The Next Evolution of Shooter

It’s time to step into the adaptive arena. Friend and foe alike will test their skills in an ever changing bio-punk world. Lock and load and get blasting, the arcade shooter of the future is here. Or at least its beta is. Today, PlayFusion is happy to announce an open beta weekend for their upcoming adaptive squad shooter, Ascendant. Coming August 3rd, the open beta will allow players to take their first steps into the bio-punk, 80’s inspired, world of the game. Of course, Ascendant is a first-person shooter where four squads of three battle for control of bio-cores. Yet, this isn’t your ordinary shooter as PlayFusion explains in a press release.

Ascendant

In fact, Ascendant forces players to adapt or die. As squads battle for control of bio-cores they will be released into a map that is never quite the same twice. Players will need to adapt to a changing environment chock-full of things that want them dead. For instance, players can expect ravenous monsters, randomized world-events, other players, and more will all stand in the way of a team and victory. Importantly, because of constant change, there is no one strategy that can assure victory. Players will need to change their weapons, tactics and more to snatch a victory from the competition.

Additionally, customization is an important aspect of Ascendant. Players will be able to customize their very own characters with 80’s inspired clothes, a massive arsenal of weapons, and more to really make the character their own. Of course, a new trailer gives players a glimpse of what awaits them in game. Check it out below.

Ascendant is releasing its open beta on August 3rd at 10AM ET. The game will be available on PC via Steam.
