It’s Time to Explore the Big Below
Get ready for a nostalgic adventure everyone! The indie video game developer Steve Aucott is delighted to announce the release date for The Big Below. Mark your calendars as it will be coming out on Steam on 6th March 2024. Moreover, a demo version is already available on itch.io for everyone to try out before its official launch.
The Big Below is a 2D top-down action-adventure game with retro music and pixelated graphics. The gameplay takes huge inspiration from 2D Legend of Zelda games, while the level designs are inspired by DOOM 1 and 2.
You will step inside the shoes of a little gnome and explore the vast caves under the earth. On your way, you will confront various monsters, solve puzzles, and explore labyrinthine dungeons. Discover four hand-crafted levels, sprawling and nonlinear, as you head down the levels to the bottom of the dungeon.
Each level has its own unique visuals, monsters, and traps, so make sure to be careful in every corner. Not only that, there are tons of secrets to unravel, and the more you find them, the more powerful you become.
