Red Dead Redemption 2 Title Update 1.32 Introduces Fixes and Enhancements
Rockstar Games has released a surprise title update for Red Dead Redemption 2, marking its first significant update in nearly two years. While the update brings various improvements and fixes across platforms, it notably lacks a highly anticipated feature that fans have been eagerly awaiting.
Available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, Title Update 1.32 introduces several enhancements. Notable improvements include an update to FSR (Fidelity Super Resolution) now at version 2.2, support for HDR10, and the resolution of a notorious glitch in Red Dead Online that caused the game to freeze upon entering stables.
Despite these welcome changes, the update disappoints fans by not addressing their most requested enhancement: the addition of 60 frames per second (fps) support for Red Dead Redemption 2 on consoles.
The community’s anticipation for such an update heightened after a leak in September hinted at a next-gen upgrade for the game. The leak, stemming from an email exchange among Microsoft executives in May 2022, mentioned a next-gen version of the game slated for release in late 2022 or early 2023.
While awaiting an official announcement regarding the next-gen update, Rockstar quietly introduced a significant enhancement in October, enabling a 60fps toggle for Red Dead Redemption on PlayStation 5 through backward compatibility.
Initially launched in 2018 for PS4 and Xbox One and later for PC in 2019, the game has amassed a massive fan base and critical acclaim. Despite criticisms from some fans regarding the prioritization of updates for GTA Online over Red Dead Redemption 2, the game remains immensely popular, with over 61 million copies sold worldwide.
While Title Update 1.32 addresses various stability fixes and online gameplay issues, fans continue to await news on the inclusion of 60fps support for console versions of Red Dead Redemption 2. The anticipation for such a feature remains high within the dedicated fan community, eager to experience the acclaimed title at its best.
