Smite Prepares for Its World Championship

Keynote Commencing

The biggest battleground of the Gods event of the year is almost upon us. The Smite World Championship is right around the corner and the season is coming to a close. Of course, there is a lot to be announced. Yet, there is also much to reflect upon. Today, Hi-Rez Studios is excited to announce that world-shaking reveals will happen at the SWC Keynote. Taking place from Jan. 12-14, the SWC will see all of Smite’s pro players face off on the quest to become season 10’s winning team. Interestingly, a press release from Hi-Rez claims there will be massive announcements at the Keynote on January 12th at 11:30 AM EST.

Despite Smite’s World Championship being the largest event in the game’s season, apparently it is playing second fiddle. According to the press release from Hi-Rez, the game’s Keynote will reveal a massive change to the game. In fact the press release refers to this announcement as “the most massive evolution SMITE has ever been through.”

Of course, this comes as a massive announcement after a year of big god releases and some game-changing updates. Importantly, Hi-Rez and Titan Forge Studios have unveiled the schedule for the SWC and other events occurring at Worlds. For instance, players can expect the cosplay contest to return in full force alongside the build-a-god panel and of course, the creator showdown. Check out the schedule here.

Currently Smite is available for free on PC, Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. So, will you be attending the SWC in person? Or will you be catching the events live on Twitch?
