GTA 5 Rockstar Editor Is Shutting Down on PS4 & Xbox One Next Month
Rockstar has announced that the Rockstar Editor mode in GTA 5 is shutting down on February 20 for old-gen consoles. The shutdown will affect players on the PS4 and Xbox One consoles. However, players on the current-gen consoles, such as PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC will still have access to the feature.
Furthermore, Rockstar also detailed that all clips stored on the affected consoles will be deleted on February 20. This means players will need to export any remaining clips to ensure they won’t lose them before the stated date. It was stated by Rickstar that the change is necessary to help support ongoing updates to GTA 5 on all its platforms.
Additionally, this means that the Director Mode feature within Rockstar Editor will also bid farewell. Director Mode gave players the ability to create in-game clips with the use of all 277 characters. It also offered control of the open world’s weather settings, traffic, time of day, etc.
In short, remember to export any clips that you don’t want to lose before February 20th. As for players on the current-gen consoles, you can keep editing and creating clips in Rockstar Editor as normal.
