Lil Guardsman Gets Funny With “LOL Guardsman” Dive Videos

A game needn’t be defined by only one theme. For instance, a serious game doesn’t have to be without tender moments. All the same, a cozy and exciting game can be comedic at the same time. Today, Indie Game Developer Hilltop Studios, in collaboration with Versus Evil, is giving players a taste of the comedic elements of their point-and-click adventure, Lil Guardsman, in a new video. Discussing the important role comedy plays in the game the video titled, “LOL Guardsman”, goes in depth on the dialogue, themes, and narrative and how they convey comedy. Of course, a press release provides more details on the videos and the game itself. 

Lil Guardsman invites players to a point-and-click deduction narrative. Playing as the titular character, players will fill in for Lil’s father as she attempts to fulfill her father’s duties as a guardsman. Importantly, this means she will have many tasks. For instance, Lil will need to interrogate a wide and eccentric cast of characters as they try to enter the city. A single misjudgment can have catastrophic effects. Good judgement is key. However, over the duration of her time as a guardsman, Lil will be thrust into a wider narrative. Here, some more comedic elements of the game shine.
