Larian Studios Rolls Out a Quick Fix for Xbox Series X|S Players Experiencing Baldur’s Gate 3 Save Woes
Larian Studios, the developer behind the critically acclaimed Baldur’s Gate 3, has swiftly addressed a specific issue affecting Xbox Series X|S players with the release of a targeted update. The problem at hand pertains to the disappearance of saves in certain scenarios, and the studio has urged players to manually update their game to ensure the issue is resolved.
Taking to social media, Larian Studios described the update as “small” in size but emphasized its importance in rectifying the save-related problem. Notably, the update is initiated through Xbox, suggesting a correlation with a Microsoft-related issue.
Baldur’s Gate 3 initially launched on PC in August, followed by a PlayStation release in September. However, the Xbox edition made a surprise debut during The Game Awards on December 7.
The announcement of Baldur’s Gate 3 for Xbox was intended to be part of a speech by Larian boss Swen Vincke during an award acceptance at The Game Awards. Regrettably, Vincke forgot to make the announcement during the live event.
The anticipation surrounding the release of Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox Series S was accompanied by speculations and discussions regarding potential impediments tied to the Xbox Series S. Reports surfaced suggesting that certain issues, possibly technical in nature, were causing deliberations and considerations before the game’s launch on the Microsoft console.
In response to these concerns, a pivotal meeting transpired between Larian Studios, the creative force behind Baldur’s Gate 3, and Phil Spencer, the CEO of Microsoft Gaming. This high-level discussion aimed to address and resolve the challenges associated with bringing Baldur’s Gate 3 to the Xbox Series S platform. An outcome of this meeting resulted in a strategic agreement between Larian and Microsoft.
