Disney Dreamlight Valley to Launch Globally on December 5

Disney Dreamlight Valley Shifts from Free-to-Play Model to Sustain Premium Game Experience

Gameloft has announced that Disney Dreamlight Valley, an enchanting life simulation game featuring beloved Disney characters, will officially launch worldwide on December 5. However, this launch comes with a significant change in the game’s pricing strategy. Originally slated as a free-to-play title, Gameloft has opted to shift away from this model to maintain a premium gaming experience for players.

A recent blog post on the game’s official website confirmed the global release date and provided insights into the decision to make the game a paid offering. According to the post, the shift was motivated by the desire to uphold a premium gaming experience, which includes consistent free content updates.

The blog post states, “This choice ensures that Disney Dreamlight Valley will be able to continue delivering on a premium game experience for all players. It’s important to us that we maintain our promise to keep delivering free content updates that add new characters, realms, clothing, furniture, and more surprises to your Valley.”

Players who acquire the Disney Dreamlight Valley: Cozy Edition on November 10 will not be required to repurchase the base game, as this edition will seamlessly transition to the full release a month later. Additionally, existing owners of Founder’s Packs will retain access to the game post-launch and will receive 2,500 Moonstones and extra cosmetics as a token of appreciation for their early support.

The blog post also introduced the game’s inaugural paid expansion pass, titled “A Rift In Time,” which will be available as a standalone purchase for $30 starting on December 5. Gameloft has plans to reveal the full details of this expansion on November 1 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET, providing a glimpse of the new adventure on Eternity Isle, where players will encounter new friends, explore fresh biomes, and immerse themselves in novel gameplay features.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is currently available in early access on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The physical Cozy Edition is scheduled to launch on November 10 for all gaming consoles. The global release on December 5 will introduce players worldwide to this enchanting Disney-themed virtual world.
