The First WRC Game May Be Announced by EA Next Week
After signing a deal in 2020 to secure the rights to the WRC license, Codemasters promised to create an annual WRC game starting in 2023. When Electronic Arts bought Codemasters a year later, the WRC license deal was still in effect. According to reports, EA Sports WRC was set to debut in July 2023. However, it was postponed that year. On Friday, the gaming firm tweeted, “Join us on September 5 for the full reveal of EA Sports WRC.” This information was revealed in response to a leak from a reliable source, Billbil-Kun, who said the game will be launched on November 3, 2023, with Champions Edition owners receiving three days of early access.
EA Sports WRC will come in two versions: the Standard Edition and the Champions Edition, the latter of which comes with the main game plus DLC for five seasons. It will work with the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Users of EA Play will allegedly receive the same three-day early access period as Champions Edition gamers in addition to the standard 10-hour trial. During this early access period before the game’s scheduled release, players may get a head start on discovering and utilizing its new features.
