Fatal Fury is back
SNK, the Japanese video game software and hardware unveils the new Fatal Fury game at EVO 2023. Fatal Fury will finally return for the first time since 1999. It is the first fighting game for the Neo Geo system and features a unique two-plane system. The characters fight on two different planes which makes it easier to dodge incoming attacks. Later entries replaced this system with a complex dodging mechanism and a three-plane system along with various experimentations.
The upcoming game will be released under the name, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. This new game was actually teased at EVO 2022. But this time, the developer gave a sneak peek at the game in action. They also showcased some of the locations the players will fight such as Geese Tower, National Park, South Town Airport, Abandoned Dojo, Live House “Old Line,” and Factory.
We can also hear the voices of some familiar characters during these introductions. Fans and players worldwide are speculating that the voices belong to Andy Bogard, Mai Shiranui, B. Jenet, Billy Kane, Marco (possibly Ryo), Hotaru Futaba, Tizoc, and Kain R. Heinlein. The game is also known as the Garou series and the franchise originated back in 1991.
