Tekken 8 Set To Host Closed Network Test In Late July

The Tekken franchise is one of the biggest among all video games alongside the likes of Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. Bandai Namco has confirmed that Tekken 8 is currently in development and is set to be released on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. However, there is no release date just yet. Today, the company has confirmed that it will host a Closed Network Test for the game ahead of its release. Interested fans can register for the test here.

The Closed Network Test will be hosted from July 21st to 24th on PlayStation 5 and then again on July 28th to 31st on Xbox Series X/S, PC via Steam and PlayStation 5. Thus far, the company has described the test as follows, “The purpose of the closed network test is to test the network and monitor the gameplay experience of Tekken 8. We aim to obtain feedback on the quality of the network and gameplay. We would greatly appreciate it if all participants could provide feedback through an online survey that we plan to send out via email after the closed network test. Your valuable opinions will be used as a reference for adjustments to the battle system.”

Additionally, players will have access to sixteen playable characters and five stages. Moreover, the developers have introduced three substantive changes to the game and the test will support cross-platform matchmaking. Tekken 8 introduces new characters to the franchise and features to the genre.
