Agatha Christie: Murder on the Orient Express Unravels This Year

Come on, Ride the Train

Books may be dead, but that doesn’t mean that Agatha Christie (deceased) is also dead. Her literature will live on forever, as long as we need video games and timeless stories. Microids has announced that they are coming out with a new game based on the Agatha Christie novel Murder on the Orient Express.

In 2016, ABC Murders launched for PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Then in 2021, The First Cases came out for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. A year later, Agatha Christie Limited and Microids announced that two additional games in the series would be released. That brings us to earlier this week, when Murder on the Orient Express was announced.

Murder on the Orient Express

Though the original novel was published in 1934, this retelling of the story will be set in 2023. This will obviously change and modernize aspects of the story, but Microids says that it will remain faithful to the original story. So, in terms of the ending, if you know, you know.

You play as Hercule Poirot, Christie’s proverbial Sherlock Holmes. You will also play as a character named Joanna. Together, they will solve puzzles and deduce facts based on the accounts of other passengers and the evidence the two collect.

There is no official release date yet, but Agatha Christie: Murder on the Orient Express will launch this year. It will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
