TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection Soars To Success With Massive Sales
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is an iconic franchise, with video games dating back to the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Recently, Konami, one of the biggest video game publishers, along with Digital Eclipse, released the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection. Today, the companies have confirmed that TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection has sold more than one million copies since its release. Furthermore, the team shared other milestones that players achieved.
Via its official Twitter, the team sent out an image with the statistics thus far. They are:
- Six million pizzas eaten
- 350 million foot soldiers defeated
- Two million of Shredder’s plans shredded
- One million times the turtles saved their friends
Most importantly, the game sold more than one million units, which is a fantastic achievement as it may incentivize developers to remaster older titles or release more beat ’em up games. It is currently available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Furthermore, players that purchase the game will have access to thirteen classic TMNT games by Konami in one package. Also, the developers have introduced several quality of life changes to the games such as the ability to save anytime, button mapping, art and sketches and added online play and local couch play. The games follow the story of four turtles, led by their master and sensei, as they fight against Shredder, the supervillain. It is a fast-paced action packed game.
