Small Time
Yesterday was the big day for Resident Evil fans. The long-awaited Resident Evil 4 Remake launched, and PCs and consoles were alight with the game all day and all night. Hopefully, no one burned themselves out on it on the first day, because there is more to come.
Resident Evil 4 Remake seems to be everything we wanted and more. Controls feel good, the scares are there, and the one-liners still zing. The only thing that is missing right now is The Mercenaries Mode. Not to worry though, because it is not too far off, as it launches in early April.
While there is not much official information on The Mercenaries, we cannot confirm that a whole lot. Thankfully, the Remake is pretty darn faithful to the original. The Chainsaw Demo is inspired by the demo for the original release and a lot of the dialogue is used again in the base game.
If The Mercenaries follows suit, then we can look to the Came Cube version for direction. Leon Kennedy was the default character in this mode. By getting a four star rating on the Village, Island, Castle, and Water World Island maps respectively, you could unlock Ada Wong, HUNK, Jack Krauser, and Albert Wesker.
If Capcom is to make any changes this time around, they may include Luis as a playable character. Perhaps a non-canon appearance from some of the heroes from the other remakes could be on the table as well.
Keep your eyes here for more information on The Mercenaries mode. It launches on April 7th for all platforms for free. Resident Evil 4 Remake is available for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
