Welcome to the kingdom of Haricot. A land that exists in the sky. A land full of monsters, secrets, and adventure. Today, Hello Penguin Team and PID Games are happy to announce the release of their fast-paced, Metroidvania, Vernal Edge. Out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, the game is focussing on side-scrolling exploration as well as fast-paced and versatile combat. A press release provides more details on the game. Additionally, players can check out a trailer for the game from a few months ago.
Vernal Edge introduces players to the titular protagonist, Vernal. Arming herself with some supernatural martial skills, and her automaton friend Chervil, Vernal is on a quest to find her estranged father. Players will adventure across the floating islands of Haricot exploring towns and dungeons. Importantly, players will jump, run, slide, and more across the islands leaving no stone unturned. Of course, Vernal also has an airship players can use to explore the flying islands in any order they choose. The game aims to provide players with a very open experience where they can explore, fight, and learn at their own pace.
Of course, one of the draws of Vernal Edge is the dynamic combat system. Featuring a whole slew of spells and abilities that players can combo into different attacks. The system provides a fun, inventive, way for players to experiment and figure out their play style. Importantly, you can check out this dynamic combat and the 2-D artstyle in the reveal trailer from last year.
Vernal Edge is out now on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch consoles. So, are you ready to enter a floating world full of adventure?
