Indie 2D Platformer Rain World Faces Price Increase In Early FebruaryÂ
Videocult along with Akupara Games released their 2D indie platformer, Rain World, in 2017. Since then, the developers have been working on content for the game and are prepared to release their DLC, Downpour, soon. Ahead of the DLC release, the developers have announced a price increase for the title in early February. Interested fans can get their hands on the game today on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Via its Steam blog, the developer, Riv Otter, stated, “I also want to take the time to talk with you guys about the base price of Rain World. In early February the base game will increase from $19.99 to $24.99. If you already own the game, don’t worry, this will not affect you.” Thus, from early February, players will pay approximately $5USD more for the title.
Besides the price increase, players have a lot to look forward to in the DLC including Jolly Co-Op, expedition mode, new rooms, new playable slugcat and much more. The developers have priced the DLC at $14.99USD and will release on 19th January, 2023.
In the game, players as a slugcat must face a world filled with danger. Unfortunately, players have been separated from their families due to a devastating flood and must now hunt for food, evade vicious predators and discover new land while fighting for survival. The game is akin to Ori and The Blind Forest.
