Special Editions of Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse Shown Off

Fabulous Frame

It’s been a while since we got a new Fatal Frame game, but that doesn’t mean the series is dead. There have been several remasters released over the past few years. Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse originally came out in 2008 for the Wii, but the remaster is set for a 2023 release date.

Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is coming out in March, but there are now Deluxe editions for fans to buy, at least in Japan. GameCity is advertising a Standard, Premium, and Digital Deluxe version. There are also a bunch of bonuses fans can claim in other ways.

The purchase options may be different in the West, but these are the ones available in Japan. The standard edition can be bought on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. Only physical copies are available for Nintendo Switch and PS4.

The Premium Edition comes with a special game case, material for a Fatal Frame novel, and a physical soundtrack. The Nintendo Switch version is the only one to actually come with the game software. If you want the game on Xbox or PlayStation, you must also buy a separate copy of Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse.

The game’s Digital Deluxe Edition comes with Swimsuit Costumes, China Dress Costumes, and Nightwear Costumes, as well as bonus accessories. It also comes with a digital artbook and soundtrack. You can buy the Digital Deluxe version for any platform, but if you bought the standard edition for some reason, you can also buy the Digital Deluxe Upgrade without the game software.

The game will also unlock bonus items and cosmetics for other reasons. If you have previous saved data from other Fatal Frame games, if you pre-order the game, or buy it before a certain date, you can claim these items.

Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse remastered will be available on March 9th. You can buy it on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
