TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge Sold More Than 1M Copies in 1st Week

TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge Reaches Its 1M Sales Milestone

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is an arcade brawler that came out this year. Fans of the 90s era franchise were in a frenzy after the announcement that everyone will be seeing the boys in action again. This game is like a 90s kid’s fever dream come true.

The game has done very well since launch. In fact, developer Tribute Games announced on social media that the title was able to sell more than one million copies during its first week in the gaming market.

TMNT Shredder's Revenge more than 1m copies 1st week

We are humbled to have so many people sharing our love of the turtles!” devs wrote. “One million copies sold in its first week calls for a mondo pizza party with tubular toppings!”

We cannot thank you enough for your everlasting support!” Publisher Dotemu added. “Working on TMNT was the challenge of a lifetime and everything became possible thanks to Nickelodeon and the incredible work of Tribute Games!”

Die-hard fans may already know that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is actually a threequel to the series of TMNT arcade games from Konami. This includes its follow-up Turtles in Time. As seen in all of these titles, they share a similar style that the devs adhered to. Despite the similarities, devs made sure to add a whole bunch of more contemporary elements. Examples of such are an OTT super attack system and dodge rolling.

The community does not expect the game to change the world of gaming. However, multiple positive reviews indicate it is such an enjoyment for the few hours that players spend in it. Tribute usually comes up with DLC for their games. With Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge reaching its 1 million sales milestone, they may give the game that very same treatment.
