The Overwatch League Has Officially Returned In Its Fifth Season
Blizzard Entertainment recently launched Overwatch 2’s beta and the game is expected to fully launch in late 2022 or early 2023. Until then, fans of the franchise will be able to enjoy Overwatch, one of the most popular hero shooters in the industry. Blizzard Entertainment has announced the return of the Overwatch League, which is the game’s official eSports competition where the best teams fight for glory, championships and prize money! The Overwatch League is an international eSports league that comprises of twenty city-based teams. Each team is filled to the brim with young talent and the best Overwatch players in the world. The 2022 Season will feature PVP gameplay from Overwatch 2. The competition has already begun and will continue until playoffs and Grand Finals sometime later this year.
Viewers of the competition can expect a fun, easy viewing experience as Blizzard promises cutting edge production value and technology. Furthermore, players in the league will be rewarded with enhanced prize pools and rewards. In the 2022 season, teams will be divided into two divisions. There will also be four tournament cycles, The Kickoff Clash, Midseason Madness, Summer Showdown and Countdown Cup. Each will have its own special features and broadcasting terms.
The eSports industry has been thriving since the relaxation of Covid protocols. Valorant, Counterstrike: Global Offensive, Call of Duty and League of Legends are frontrunners in the industry and it will only continue to grow.
