Snowcastle Games Announces Unfortunate Delay Of EarthLock 2

Snowcastle Games is an independent video game developer based in Norway. It was founded in 2011 and has released quite a few titles since including Hogworld and Earthlock. Earthlock, the first in the trilogy, was very successful as it sold more than 2.5 million copies. In August 2020, the company announced the game’s long awaited sequel, Earthlock 2. Today, the developers have finally given an update on Earthlock 2 following its initial announcement. The update went into details of the studio and the game’s current status.

Firstly, the developers thanked their fans and supporters for keeping up with the game and its status. Secondly, and more unfortunately, Earthlock 2 will not be released this year. The game was delayed as although the team doubled in size, switching from Unity to Unreal Engine has been difficult.

However, on the brighter side, Snowcastle Games is confident that of the work made in the game internally. Additionally, in the release, the developers hinted at a major announcement for an unknown title coming soon.

Earthlock 2 is set on the planet of Umbra. Half of the world is shrouded in darkness while the other half soaks up the sunlight. Along the border between the two worlds, there is a small area that offers the best of both. In the game, a group of friends must set out on a journey to rescue their missing family members. The game is an open-world action RPG that offers players an expansive, extensive experience with a ton of customization options.
