This Also Marks The 35th Anniversary of the Final Fantasy Series

Square Enix is celebrating two anniversaries- that of the original Final Fantasy VII and the Final Fantasy series. Through the Final Fantasy directors, Tetsuya Nomura and Yoshinori Kitase, they shared a message about celebrating the quarter-century anniversary.

Kitase and Nomura spoke of their thankfulness towards fans in a  translated message on Twitter, with Kitase going first. “…We are honored last year as the third most popular game by gamers in a (Japanese) TV poll. That we could achieve something like that is very much thanks to all the support we have had over the long years. Thank you so much.”

Nomura added further along in the post, “I am truly grateful to all the fans who have loved FFVII over these 25 years and thanks to your support, Cloud has never felt far away over that time.”

Moreover, both directors promised that there would be more Final Fantasy content that would be coming out in the upcoming year, not only for the Remake but for other projects as well. There has been a release for the 25th anniversary with a new logo featuring Sephiroth, Zack, and Cloud.

Thankfully, this also means that there will be the reveal of the Final Fantasy VII Remake part two. Kitase confirmed that in the next twelve months there will be the reveal of the Remake Part Two. This does not mean that Part Two will be out to play, nor when we will see more of the upcoming game. But it is coming.

We are hard at work on Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis, so please look forward to that. In addition, with regards to the long-awaited Final Fantasy 7 Remake [Part 2]… there will be more information… this year if we can,” said Kitase. “We just started the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII, so we want to celebrate and get fans excited, so within the next 12 months, we want to share some information. Look forward to more information!
