The Meme-Turned-Reality Sells Out in Mere Minutes
Following pre-orders in the United States in October, the Xbox Mini Fridge became available for pre-order in Canada for $149.99 CAD at 9 am EST this morning. However, the Mini Fridge quickly sold out in minutes.
If you’re a little confused, here is some back story. Back in March 2020, Xbox tweeted a small joke graphic comparing the new Xbox Series X to a regular refrigerator for scale. This quickly snowballed into a viral meme, becoming the talk of Twitter.

Rather than letting it end there, Xbox decided to run with the idea. By October of last year, the seemingly harmless meme resulted in a full-fledge Xbox Series X Fridge. The Fridge was a 6-foot tall, 400 pound 1:1 scale replica of the Series X. It was gifted to Snoop Dogg and given away to a fan in a contest.
This Fridge featured an Xbox icon on the front of the fridge that powers on. Using the disc drive slot to open the fridge door, the Xbox booting sound would greet you.
Fast forward to this October and Xbox announced the launch of the Xbox Series X Mini Fridge. The new Mini Fridge is designed to resemble the Xbox Series X and holds up to 12 beverage cans. It also has two shelves on the door. The front of the Mini Fridge even includes a USB port for charging.
After becoming available for pre-orders this morning, the Mini Fridge quickly sold out in mere minutes. There are some reports of people being able to get their hands on one. However, the Microsoft Store says it is currently out of stock, so you are likely out of luck.
