Phasmophobia Update Adding Custom Difficulty Sometime in 2022

Scared to Perfection

Non-denominational holiday came early for horror game fans! Developer Kinetic Games has released some plans for the game coming in 2022. This Phasmophobia update roadmap includes improvements to the VR support, the progression system, and a new custom difficulty option.

The regular game mode is too [this], or too [that]. The [item] is too OP, etc. The custom difficulty option will allow players to change certain values and effects of the game. Players will be able to affect things like the weather, sanity pill effectiveness, and the duration of the hunt.

Other elements like the ghost interaction rate can be changed and the ability to disable flashlights will be added. Not sure why you would want to play as scary game in the dark though. Kinetic Games says that more variables will be included when the Phasmophobia update launches, however we do not know when exactly that will be.

In the VR department, game’s optimization will be improved. The sound sensor will also get a rework. The visuals will be improved and there will be adjusted functionality. There will also be a two-part update to the game’s progression system. There will be a slew of additions, such as more equipment, more character models and animations, optional objectives, and daily/weekly challenges.

Players will also be able to customize their character, which may mean they could unlock new looks, but that’s just speculation. A player’s equipment will upgradable, likely to improve effectiveness. The level progression will be reworked, however that means the update will contain a level-wipe.

There is no telling when these updates roll out, but they are planned for 2022. Phasmophobia is available on PC.
