GTA Trilogy Devs Apologize for Bugs & Will Bundle Classic Games Back

Grand Theft Auto: Trilogy – Definite Edition Devs Publicly Apologized for In-Game Bugs & Promised Fixes

Grand Theft Auto: Trilogy – Definitive Edition did not launch as well as Rockstar Games hoped it would. It has been reviewed by many to be messy and a trainwreck, with majority of its fans clamoring for the devs to bring back the original versions—which, in turn, were delisted when the trilogy released.

The team behind Grand Theft Auto: Trilogy – Definitive Edition apologized on social media today for the many visual and technical issues that were experienced by its players.

We want to sincerely apologize to everyone who has encountered issues playing these games,” the devs wrote. “The Grand Theft Auto series, and the games that make up this iconic trilogy, are as special to us as we know they are to fans around the world.”

As their way of making up for the botched GTA Trilogy release, Rockstar confirmed that they are going to bring back the classic versions of GTA San Andreas, GTA Vice City, and GTA 3—as a bundle—via its own Rockstar Games Store on PC, while those who already own the remastered games—or those who buy the game through June 30th of next year—will be getting the returning classics for free.

Apparently, they did not think that the games were polished enough to be launched to the public. “The updated versions of these classic games did not launch in a state that meets our own standards of quality, or the standards our fans have come to expect,” the devs continued. Fortunately for GTA Trilogy fans, Rockstar has promised that they are going to roll out updates to fix in-game issues.

The return of these original Grand Theft Auto games is beloved among GTA fans. This reaction is an improvement from when they bombarded Rockstar with negative comments, with some of them reportedly harassing the devs on social media. “We would kindly ask our community to please maintain a respectful and civil discourse around this release as we work through these issues,” the devs said.
