Square Enix’s Card-Based RPG Voice of Cards Set To Launch In October

Square Enix Has Announced That Its Upcoming Card-Based RPG Will Launch In October

Square Enix’s Nier Automata is a fan favorite and the creative team behind the Nier and Drakengard series, including its Creative Director, Executive Producer, Music Director and Character Designer amongst others have come together to work on an upcoming card-based RPG, Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars. Square Enix have confirmed that Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars will release digitally on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on October 28th, 2021.

In Voice of Cards, players are thrown into a world clothed in mystery and are guided by the narrative voice of the Game Master. The game’s story is told via cards. The protagonist is on a journey to defeat a recently reawakened Dragon that is threatening his homeland and people. Along the way, the protagonist is joined by some teammates such as Mar, a monster attached to him and Melanie, a witch that seriously wants to defeat the Dragon.

Along the way, players must make tough decisions and engage in turn-based field and dungeon battles that unfold in a manner akin to traditional tabletop RPGs.

A free demo is available to fans showcasing the beginning of the game on both the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. The prologue episode is based on events before the main story, including the Ivory Order’s search for royal treasure. Furthermore, a physical version of the game, Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars Metal Card Set is currently available for pre-order here. The set includes three metal cards featuring main characters from the game.

Fans of the Nier series will be able to dress in Nier themed gear and anyone who preorders will receive the Golden Dragon Pattern DLC for free.
