Outriders Latest Update Changes Legendary Drop Rate And More

Update

Outriders, released in April this year, was developed by People Can Fly and published by Square Enix. Outriders is a co-op, third person looter shooter that fully supports crossplay and released on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One. Prior to its release, Outriders was a highly anticipated release as it was presented as a fresh, new co-op shooter with great gunplay, quick movement and excellent loot. Upon release, many people complained of various aspects of the game, particularly its online matchmaking issues, the nature of the game as a live service, bugs and crashes and the loot system. Since then, People Can Fly have acknowledged the complaints made by the community and promised to make the required changes. As of 22nd June 2021, the company released their latest patch which has made substantial changes to the game.

Most notably, the legendary drop rates have been increased by 100% across the board and legendary gear will now drop across any level. Furthermore, the luck system has been altered to ensure players do not go too long without a legendary drop in endgame content and scripted boss loot are now able to drop all non-classic specific Legendary Helmets. An anti-duplication system has been implemented so that if a player already has an item that drops, it will be re-rolled once. In essence, the developers have dropped this patch with the specific goal of improving the ‘grind’ for many players and dealing with the primary complaints in the game.

Besides changes to the legendary system, other changes made include crash fixes and bug fixes to various elements of the game as well as faster sign in times for Xbox users. Console players now have more options and settings for controller customization including Legacy Outputs, Deadzones, Look Sensitivity and Acceleration.
