Port Royale 4 Officially Sails Across to the Nintendo Switch

Port Royale initially launched on the on 25th September 2020 as a seafaring trade simulator on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and on PC via Steam and Epic Games. Based on its feedback and reviews, it is no surprise that publishers Kalypso Media and in-house developer Gaming Minds Studio officially announced that Port Royale 4 is now available for the Nintendo Switch. The release is historic as this is the first game in the series to debut on the Nintendo family of consoles. The game is currently available digitally via the Nintendo eShop and physically via all relevant retailers. The game is listed at USD$49.99 on the Nintendo eShop with an expected game file size of 6.3GB.

Port Royale 4 offers the ultimate trade simulator experience set in the 17th Century Caribbean scenery to both settle and explore. The game will utilize the Switch’s unique abilities for full touch-screen support that will make trades, upgrades and building production lines a seamless and effortless process. Players will be tasked with fighting against rival colonies by targeting their fleets and settlements and also free themselves of one of the four sovereign nations in France, Netherlands, England and Spain, choosing to act on behalf of another country and update their flag to something that represents them. Other features of Port Royale 4 include the ability for players to be led by one of the four classes including Buccaneer, Merchant, Explorer and Pirate, to manage major Caribbean cities in a huge world, construct towns with neighboring effects, create building with vast production lines for items such as rum and other luxuries and sail across sixteen historically authentic ships of the 16th and 17th century.
