Elden Ring Will Apparently Launch Within the Next Year

Maybe Theyโ€™ll Show Us a Second Image or Something

At the Game Awards 2020, FromSoftwareโ€™s upcoming game Elden Ring was voted โ€œMost Anticipated Gameโ€ of the show. Call me crazy, but I am pretty sure all weโ€™ve seen is an announcement trailer. What it is about, what the game really looks like is still largely unknown right now. You want to be excited for it? Sure, I guess. There are some big names behind it, at least. The optimism of fans might be paying off though. According to an investor call for FromSoftwareโ€™s parent company Kadokawa, Elden Ring will be launching within this new fiscal year.

Elden Ring Release Date

During this investor call, Kadokawa laid out a lot of boring money stuff like revenue, profits, and all that, but they also detailed what they are calling โ€œpriority measuresโ€. Kadokawa is a multimedia publishing company, so their plans include expanding existing IPs, strengthening their animation departments, investing in E-books, and Elden Ring. This report calls Elden Ring โ€œFromSoftwareโ€™s biggest title yetโ€ and that it is planning to launch this fiscal year, which has just begun and will end at the end of March 2022. They are basically giving themselves a full year.

Given what little we have seen about Elden Ring, it is easy for me to be skeptical of it, but letโ€™s not forget about a certain game that we had been shown for almost ten years leading up to its release before totally disappointing us. Maybe Elden Ringโ€™s potential is just gamingโ€™s best kept secret right now. If Kadokawaโ€™s estimations are true, then Elden Ring should be coming out within the next year for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
