Arkane Studios Announces Deathloop Delayed Until Early Fall

Reset. Try Again.

If you are a PS5 owner who is looking forward to playing Deathloop next month, prepare for some disappointment. Earlier today, developer Arkane Studios announced that the release of Deathloop would be pushed back until September. This comes with the assurance that Arkane Studios is striving for the best player experience, needs extra time for polish, has the best interesting of the player in mind, yada yada yada. This is the studio that made Dishonored; we believe they know what they are doing. Just have faith. You’ll be playing the same kill mission over and over before you know it.

Deathloop Deluxe Edition

When it comes to console exclusivity, like in the case of Deathloop, there are sometimes members of the other camp that will take setbacks like this as a victory. This delay does kind of suck for PS5 and PC players, but if you are an Xbox owner who is looking forward to Deathloop, just remember, this means that the one year countdown until you can play it on Xbox Series X has been pushed back too. Even though Microsoft acquired the publisher Bethesda last year, the timed PS5 exclusivity deal will be honored for Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo.

Deathloop was originally slated for a 2020 release date, but we know how that turned out. Unfortunately, multiple delays are not uncommon, but hopefully, fans won’t be seeing another for Deathloop. The new release date for Deathloop is September 14th for PS5 and PC.

Does this delay bum you out or are you unfazed? Let us know in the comments below.
