VZR Model One Headset Is Changing The Sound Game This Year

Catch Every Cracking Twig

Several years ago, a crew of genuine audiophiles got together and made a company – VZR Audio. It’s made up of former Apple, THX, SRS Labs, Samsung Design Lab, and THQ staff. Total sound and music nerds, in other words. Now, after much tweaking and testing, the VZR Model One headset is just about ready for the world at large.

The big draw here is 3D audio. The Model One uses proprietary tech in order to accurately simulate sounds coming from all possible directions. They don’t even have to alter the audio files in any way! This sci-fi power, known as CrossWave, would be just perfect for hearing footsteps around the corner. Or maybe it’ll just let you pinpoint the precise origin of the sniper shot that disintegrated your skull. Depends on the kinds of games you play, you know?

As an enormous recluse, I’m more inclined to use this kind of terrifying power to juice up my music consumption. Trippy, multi-layered arthouse experiments seem tailor made for this sort of sound quality.  While it’s gonna be a few months before anyone gets their hands on these babies, we can at least confirm that they look terrific. If you too are deeply curious about these cans, you can head over to the VZR site to sign up for pre-order notifications right now. The current release window has the VZR Model One headset dropping sometime in Q2 of this year.
