SNK vs Capcom: The Match of the Millennium Heading to the Switch

After 22 years since its release, the first crossover between SNK and Capcom is making its comeback. SNK vs Capcom: The Match of the Millennium is going to be coming to Nintendo Switch this month. It originally came out in 1999 for Neo Geo Pocket Color, but not being as popular as a Gameboy, not everyone got to play it. Obviously, the various franchises that both companies brought to the game have carried on strong to the present day, so now is a good a time as any to bring the first clash between SNK and Capcom to a modern audience.

SNK vs Capcom: The Match of the Millenium

The game has a total of 26 characters; 13 from each side. Capcom has staple characters like Chun Li, Ken, and Ryu from Street Fighter and Morrigan from Darkstalkers. SNK brought characters such as Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui from Fatal Fury and Haohmaru from Samurai Shodown. They also included antagonists from their games like M. Bison and Geese Howard. The bonus Olympic Mode featured characters like Arthur from Ghosts ‘N Goblins and Mars People from Metal Slug. The Match of the Millennium battle rules had options of 2-fighter tag teams, 3-fighter queues, or one-on-one matches.

The Match of the Millennium was followed up by several more SNK vs Capcom game, some of where were fighting games like Match of the Millennium and some were card games, such as Card Fighters Clash. SNK vs Capcom: The Match of the Millennium will be coming to Nintendo Switch on February 17th.
