The Fan Favorite Map Is Set to Release in Just a Few Days
The release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War marks the fifth entry in the Black Ops series. If youโve been following the series since the original release of Call of Duty: Black Ops in 2010, then you are probably pretty aware of the iconic Nuketown map. You might recognize it from the first game, Black Opsโฆand the second game, Black Ops IIโฆ As well as Black Ops III, and Black Ops 4. Okay, so Nuketown is a bit of a staple in the Black Ops series so it was only a matter of time before Cold War got its own version of the map.
While the general premise and layout mostly stay the same from iteration to iteration, each game adds a new aesthetic when remaking the classic map. Now, fans have Nuketown โ84 to look forward to in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
While the original Nuketown had more of a quaint, Subarian aesthetic, Nuketown โ84 is a bit of a rougher scene. The map has evolved with each new game with Black Ops IIโs Nuketown being a close copy of the original. Black Ops IIIโs Nuk3town is a much more futuristic take on the map, having been redesigned to fit the gameโs new aesthetic and movement options. Black Ops 4 covers the map in a lovely blanket of snowโperfect for killing your friends. Finally, Cold Warโs take on the map sets you in a desert climate, giving the closest feel to a traditional war zone out of the bunch.
Nuketown โ84 is set to make itโs Cold War debut on November 24th. Players who already own the game, or purchase it before December 4th, will get the new map for free. Anyone picking up the game after that will have to pay for the DLC. Thinking about picking up Cold War? Well, nowโs the time.
