Composer Gustavo Santaolalla Teases The Last of Us Part III
The Last of Us series composer Gustavo Santaolalla may have teased another sequel in the series with a recent tweet congratulating the Naughty Dog team on being nominated for so many awards this year. Santaolalla suggests that his adventure with Neil Druckmann is only just beginning. While Santaolalla failed to elaborate on what more he and Naughty Dog have cooking, it’s likely a sequel to the beloved The Last of Us series. The Last of Us Part II is available exclusively for PS4, and through backwards compatibility on the PS5.
“Happy and grateful! The Last Of Us PartII nominated by The Game Awards in 9 categories, among them Best Score and Music!” said Gustavo Santaolalla on his official Twitter account. “Sign in to vote! Thanks to Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmann for inviting me to this adventure. It’s just the beginning!” The Twitter users in the comments fell on one of three sides regarding Gustavo Santaolalla’s statement: congratulations to him and the rest of Naughty Dog, trolling and hatred towards The Last of Us Part II, and speculations and gifs as to what the “just the beginning” could mean.
The Last of Us Part II has already cleaned up big at the Golden Joysticks, and it’s likely to take home several awards at The Game Awards. The Last of Us Part II is being widely considered for year-end game awards to cap off our first year of COVID-19, including the COGConnected team. For this year’s Game Awards, The Last of Us Part II has been nominated for several awards, including Game of the Year, best narrative, best audio, best innovation in accessibility, best storytelling, and more.
