It’s A Breath of the Wild Prequel, of Sorts
Yes, we know that events prior to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild were pretty rough, but what actually happened? Koei Tecmo is going to explore this mysterious period with Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. So, a lot of huge battles happened. Is what you’re saying.
Since this is a Warriors game, that means a couple of things: a very specific style of gameplay, and multiple playable characters. If you wanted your chance to play as Zelda, or Daruk, or Urbosa, this will be that chance! Oh, and it will be your chance to find out the whole story about the Calamity, if you’re into that sort of thing.
Not only does it look like there will be gobs of playable characters, but the art style has been perfectly recreated. Since this entry in the Warriors series is focused entirely on one game world rather than a dozen of them, it seems like the narrative might be a more focused effort, as well. We even got a release date along with this announcement! Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is coming to the Nintendo Switch on November 20th, 2020. You can check out a couple of videos regarding said game just below. Who’s ready for more Urbosa, baby?!?
