Breath of The Wild Enjoys 42nd Month In Top Ten

It’s A Pretty Popular Game

NPD released some sales stats for the Nintendo Switch, as is their purview. Said stats revealed that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is still in the top ten for sales! In fact, it has not left the top ten for the entire 42 months the game has been out. Which, you know, is pretty cool.

This last month, the game was at number six. Throughout its time on the sales charts, it’s never fallen lower than seven. Current estimates for total sales between the Switch and the Wii U put Breath of The Wild at around 20 million copies. This makes BoTW the highest selling Legend of Zelda title ever, and not by a slim margin either.

Of course, it’s still somehow only the fourth-best selling Nintendo Switch title. The top prize in that list goes to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which is currently at a whopping 26.74 million sales. Maybe the upcoming Hyrule Warriors game, or even the Breath of The Wild sequel, will give the long-reigning title a run for its money. For now however, there’s probably a few months left in the Zelda game’s extensive stay within the top ten. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild is out now for the Nintendo Switch.
