Jenny LeClue – Detectivu to be Released on Switch August 26th, 2020
Jenny LeClue, which is currently available on steam and in the app store, will be released on Switch a week from now. The Switch edition will feature full voice acting, auto-dialogue, and new controls optimized for the Switch. The auto-dialogue will allow the player to immerse themselves in the story by making the game feel like an animated movie. Mografi, the micro indie studio that created the game, are known for their compelling games, which focus on visual storytelling and design.
The game is set in Arthurton, which despite being a sleepy town is full of memorable characters. Jenny LeClue, the main character, is thrust into a thrilling story of mystery when her mother is accused of murder. It will be up to Jenny to uncover the truth. Thankfully, the young detective is well suited to the task as a sharp-eyed brilliant young detective. This adventure will require sleuthing through an expansive world of abandon mines, graveyards, lakes, and even a library. Along the way, you will meet intriguing characters who may be friend or foe.
The game narrative is rich and features a story within a story. A narrator, Arthur K Finklestein, guides the story and allows you to make choices that effect the both Jenny’s story and even Finklestein’s own story. Ultimately, the story will explore themes of family loss and identity.
The rich narrative is matched with a beautiful handmade world. The animation is hand-drawn and inspired by mid-century aesthetics. The beautiful environment will encourage deep exploration, which will reward players with humor and secrets. The artwork is further enhanced by an original soundtrack created by the award-winning scntfc (Andrew Rohrmann).
