Stiff Rules
If you’ve been anticipating the ability to share your Dirt 5 creations with friends across their PS4s, Xbox Ones, and PCs, you’ll be sad to know that come the game’s launch in October, that won’t be an option. Codemasters’ Development Director Robert Karp recently spoke on the subject when asked about the user-generated content creation tool.
“A lot of the conversations we’ve had internally when talking about Playgrounds and why we need moderation tools and why we need someone to manage it is because often the conversation comes up about the penis.”
Karp continued:
“That’s one of the reasons why we couldn’t do all the actual work, which we would have loved to have done for cross-platform, for Playgrounds. We just decided that we didn’t have the time with Dirt 5 because we knew straight away people on Xbox and PlayStation and PC would be making penises left, right and center.”
It isn’t hard to imagine that the more people learn of the reasoning behind this, the more likely they’ll flock to their systems to create penis-shaped tracks. Hell, the source for this story did that very thing. It’s really only a matter of who can erect the best of the bunch. What that exactly entails, though, remains to be seen.
Dirt 5 releases October 16th.
