How Did This Game Get Constructed?
Merchandise and branding is important for a franchise. Lunchboxes, stickers, towels, clothing; I respect the hustle. It gets a little weird when we hit somewhat unrelated simulators in the world of a franchise. Enter Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead. Today, publisher Headup and developer ClockStone unveiled a live-action trailer for their new game. There is also game art featuring show favorite characters Michonne, Daryl, and Eugene. The trailer does not exactly show what the game really is. Instead, it has someone within The Walking Dead universe trying to play the game.
We see a survivor running through an abandoned factory of some sort, loosely followed by walkers. He enters the factory and finds a generator. After starting it up, he plugs in his gaming laptop and puts on his headphones. The walkers catch up to him and we see strawberry jam splatter all over his laptop, but we don’t see what the game really is. It might be inspired by the opening arc of season 9 of The Walking Dead where the different factions try to work together to build a bridge uniting them.
ClockStone has been making Bridge Constructor games for a while now, crossing over with other franchises like Portal, as well as making different variants like a stunt Bridge Constructor or medieval Bridge Constructor. The trailer was shown at Gamescom, but apparently it was not the right time to show off any gameplay. These physics-based puzzle games have a pretty big audience, so hey, it might be worth looking at. You can add Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead to your Steam wishlist now. Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead will be coming out in 2020 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and mobile platforms.
