New Paradox Studio Opens That Will Focus Entirely on Grand Strategy Titles

Everybody Welcome Paradox Tinto

Paradox has announced that it has opened a new studio. Call Paradox Tinto this offshoot studio is going to be focusing entirely on grand strategy games. While this is not all that different from what Paradox works on anyways it will serve as a sanctuary that can solely work on one genre.

EU4

Tinto is going to be overseen by Johan Andersson. Andersson has been with Paradox for years now and is responsible for bringing massive franchises like Europe Universalis to life. Paradox already has a near-monopoly on the grand strategy scene on PC. One can only imagine what they will be able to produce with the help of Tinto.

Judging from what Paradox has said about this new studio it would appear that their first initial goal is to add more content into Europa Universalis IV and then work on creating new titles. EU4 has been an enormous success so far and still gets regular updates and DLC’s despite being almost seven years old. It is by no means a game that is going to have pass appeal in the same way that FIFA or Call of Duty does, but it is regarded as one of the best strategy experiences next to other greats such as Total War.

Tinto is going to be based out of Barcelona, and still has a lot of empty positions to fill. According to Paradox, they are planning on hiring close to 200 new employees this year alone. Keep in mind that not all of these positions are going to be exclusively in Tinto.

If you are wanting to get into games like EU4, now is a great time to get your feet wet. The brand new Emperor expansion is set to release on June 9th.
