Hatten Down the Batches!
As if Animal Crossing: New Horizons did not already have a ton to offer, a set of Summer updates are scheduled for release, and for free. These updates are not just bug fixes and quality of life improvements, but new events and items are being added to the game. These updates also bring the return of a couple of past Animal Crossing characters such as Pascal the red otter and Gulliver the seagull, who can also be found in the base game. The first free Summer update will be here on July 3rd.
Gulliver, like in previous games and in New Horizons, can be found sleeping on the beach, presumably shipwrecked. After talking to him a bunch of times, he will wake up and demand your help. In Hew Horizons, the player has to find his communicator pieces. After, he calls his crew to come pick him up. It has not been revealed what Gulliver will need from the player this time around, but you can be sure he wants something. Pascal has not yet appeared in New Horizons, but come July 3rd he will. Pascal can find the player when they find deep-sea creatures and items, and trade DIY recipes for their bounty.
Oh, by the way, the new Summer update will allow the player to swim and dive in the ocean to find new items. As mentioned above, some of these items can be traded to Pascal, while others can be donated to the museum. An aquarium has been added to the museum to accommodate these new creatures. The free Summer update will be live on July 3rd and a second Summer update will be coming in August. Hopefully, this means that seasonal updates will be coming ever few months. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
