Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1&2 Getting Glow Up This Fall

A Proper 4K Makeover

Finally, we can revisit the virtual skate parks of our vibrant youth. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1&2 are getting that 4K remaster glow-up this September. A trailer accompanies this announcement, and hot damn these games have never looked better. Just as you remember them, only much better.

The collection will feature a lot of the same music, all of the original gameplay modes, and a few new additions as well. Apparently only a handful of tracks from the original release didn’t make the transition. Licencing issues can get pretty thorny two decades later, after all. Successful transplants include Goldfinger, Powerman 5000, Bad Religion, Millencolin, Naughty By Nature, Papa Roach, Primus, Lagwagon, and Rage Against the Machine.

Vicarious Visions, the team responsible for all of Activision’s recent remasters, will be handling this project as well. Along with all the original game elements, things like a more robust park creator will let players go nuts making the skate spot of their dreams. You want spirals, massive ramps, canyons, and concrete mazes? You can do it all, and also share said creations with the world. Such exquisite suffering is better when shared, after all. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1&2 is coming to PS4, PC, and the Xbox One on September 4th, 2020.
