Sequel to WrestleFest Asks For Fan Submissions
If you’ve been following along with the labor-of-love project, RetroMania Wrestling, for the past couple of years, you’re not alone. The highly anticipated sequel to WrestleFest is set for release sometime this year, and the developers are now asking for your help in fleshing out a part of the ’10 Pounds of Gold’ mode.
Over on their Facebook page, the team behind the anticipated throwback to the golden era of professional wrestling has asked for fans to submit their best ideas for character story endings. The official post reads as follows:
“Who would like to see these end stories return, as a throwback to WrestleMania the Arcade Game? Each wrestler in RetroMania Wrestling would have one after you get through the Ten Pounds of Gold mode. Comment with a crazy story idea for someone on our launch roster and we may just use it. ?”
Ten Pounds of Gold will be the story mode akin to many of the wrestling games from that era, with WCW/NWO Revenge having specifically been mentioned as an influence. In it, you’ll select one of several wrestlers from organizations across the world, and compete in a series of matches to earn a shot at the heavyweight championship.
Earlier this month, the entire launch roster had been finalized, with two surprise additions being announced in light of recent developments with the WWE:
Road Warrior Hawk
Road Warrior Animal
Austin Idol
Big Stevie Cool (of ECW fame)
Blue Meanie (of ECW fame)
Colt Cabana
Hollywood Nova
Jeff Cob (of Ring of Honor fame)
Johnny Retro (currently John Morrison in WWE)
Nikita Koloff (of NWA fame)
Nick Aldis (reigning NWA World Heavyweight Champion)
Tommy Dreamer (of ECW fame)
Warhorse (of Zero1 fame)
Zack Saber Jr (of New Japan Pro Wrestling fame)
Matt Cardona and Brian Myers, formerly known as Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins respectively, have been revealed as the final two roster additions.
